AUGER LAKE

Privacy Policy

Effective date:

The Short Version

We do not collect your data. We could not, even if we wanted to, because Auger Lake has no servers.

Everything you do in this game stays on your phone: your progress, your caught fish, your profile photo, your settings. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is shared, nothing is sold.

If you delete the app, all of it is gone. That is the whole story. The rest of this page just says it more carefully.

About This Policy

This policy explains how the game handles information. It applies to the Auger Lake app on iOS and to nothing else. If you follow a link out of the app, you are somewhere else, and their rules apply there.

What We Collect

Nothing.

Auger Lake has no backend, no accounts, no login, no analytics, and no third-party software development kits. The game makes no network requests of its own. We do not receive your name, your email, your device identifier, your location, your contacts, or your gameplay statistics.

We do not know who you are, and we do not know that you play. That is by design.

What Lives on Your Device

The game saves things locally so your lakes are still there tomorrow. All of it is stored in the app's private storage on your device.

  • Your angler: nickname and photo, if you chose to add one.
  • Your progress: levels cleared, stars, fish caught, giants, records, achievements.
  • Your currencies: Snowflakes and Amber balances, thermos cups, and daily hole streak.
  • Your unlocks: casings you own and which one is equipped.
  • Your settings: haptics, sound, music, and notification preferences.
  • Your profile photo, if you chose to add one.

None of this leaves the device. It is not backed up to our servers, because there are none. If your device backs up your apps through Apple, that backup is handled by Apple under Apple's terms, not ours.

Your Photo

You can give your angler a photo. This is entirely optional, and the game works exactly the same without one.

  • If you choose Take Photo, the app asks for camera access. The camera is used only to take that one picture.
  • If you choose Choose from Library, you pick a single image through Apple's own picker. The app never gets access to the rest of your library.
  • The photo is resized to 512 by 512 pixels and saved as a JPEG in the app's private storage.
  • Location data and other embedded metadata are stripped before the file is saved.
  • The photo is never uploaded, never transmitted, and never shown to anyone but you on this device.
  • Removing the photo or deleting the app deletes the file from your device.

If you refuse camera access, nothing breaks. You just use the drawn angler sticker instead.

Game Center

If you sign in to Game Center, your scores and achievements are submitted to Apple's leaderboards so you can compare them with friends.

This is optional. The game is fully playable without Game Center, and it will simply show local records instead.

When Game Center is on, Apple handles your Game Center nickname, your photo, and your submitted scores under Apple's own privacy policy. We only send scores and achievement progress. We receive no personal information back beyond what Apple displays inside the leaderboard.

Purchases

Auger Lake offers optional in-app purchases: Amber, the Angler Kit, and the Warm Hut subscription.

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card number, your billing address, or your Apple Account details. Apple tells the app only whether a purchase completed, so the app can hand you what you bought.

Purchases are for cosmetic items, convenience, and extra attempts. Nothing in this game can be exchanged for money or for anything of real-world value, and there is no gambling of any kind.

Subscription terms, renewals, and cancellations are managed in your Apple Account settings.

Reminders

If you turn on the daily reminder in Settings, the game asks your device for permission to show notifications. The reminder is scheduled locally on your device. There is no push server, nothing is sent to us, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings or in your device's notification settings.

No Ads, No Tracking, No Analytics

Auger Lake shows no advertising of any kind.

There are no advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels, no attribution frameworks, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. The App Tracking Transparency prompt never appears because there is nothing to ask you about.

There are also no analytics. We do not measure sessions, crashes, funnels, or anything else about how you play.

Children

Auger Lake is a friendly puzzle game about winter fishing. It is suitable for all ages.

There are no accounts, no chat, no messaging, no user-generated content, no social feeds, and no links to social networks inside gameplay. Because the game collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either.

The only outbound links are the ones on this page and in the legal section of Settings, and the standard App Store purchase flow, which is protected by your device's own purchase controls.

How to Delete Everything

You are always one tap away from a clean slate.

  • Angler, then Settings, then Reset Progress, clears your levels, stars, snowflakes, boosters and statistics on this device.
  • Deleting the app from your device removes every file the game created, including all progress and all photos.

Because nothing is stored anywhere else, there is nothing left for us to delete on your behalf and nothing for you to request from us.

Your Rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR in Europe and the CCPA in California give you rights over personal data held about you: the right to know, to access, to correct, to delete, and to object to sale or sharing.

We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or delete. We do not sell or share personal information, because we do not have any.

If you believe otherwise, write to us at the address below and we will answer.

Changes to This Policy

If the game ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top.

If a future version of the game ever begins collecting data, we will say so plainly here before it happens, and the app will ask for your consent where the law requires it.
